Regardless of the type of truck or basket you are rolling through your laundry or mail room, it is important that these carts roll quietly, smoothly and easily throughout your facility. We want to ensure that you do not disrupt your colleagues working around you. Many of these baskets and carts last for a very long time and can last even longer by providing maintenance and replacements on the casters.
One common recommendation made for replacement casters on these carts is a 4” x 1-1/4” Polyurethane on Polyolefin caster with ball bearings and thread guards. These top plate casters match up perfectly with the bolthole pattern drilled in the bottom of the cart frame making it easy to replace a broken caster without any extra labor or alterations required. The ball bearings in the wheel provide a smooth and quiet roll and do not require any grease to be maintained as they are used over time. The threadguard on the wheel hub keeps debris such as hair, string, and threads from building up around the bearing and axle which can cause the wheel to bind or jam. These are a fantastic replacement for these types of carts but are not the only recommendation. Ask your local specialist if you seek an alternative replacement.
