Since 1965, Intermetro wire shelving has been the industry standard. As a Gold Seal stocking distributor for their products, we always get excited and proud when our team completes a new installation for one of our customers. Especially when it is custom! Since we stock everything at a component level (whether it be casters, shelving or handtrucks) the combinations we are able to generate for our customers are seemingly endless. In the photo pictured in this post, I would like to highlight a custom overhead shelving unit which we just installed for a customer. The overall dimensions are 12′ W x 6′ D x 11′ H. We had a limited amount of space to work with, basically the same dimensions as the unit listed above. The goal here was for us to figure out a way of expanding our customer’s medical container capacity from 72 pieces to 100 pieces. The only way of doing this was to go 11′ high. Eleven feet high is obviously too high to reach the top shelf by just standing so to help our customer access the bins located on the upper shelves, we supplied a rolling ladder for him to access the containers. This 10 shelf 11′ high stationary storage unit provides superior storage space for our customer. It increased their space utilization for maximum optimization and increased their bin capacity with the the same space they were already using. Intermetro is ideal for dry or wet environments and offers heavy duty load capacities while still maintaining an aesthetically appealing look. This custom install met all of our customers needs and we look forward to installing our next solution driven shelving unit!
